Salicylic Acid (Beta Hydroxy Acid) has been used to treat stretch marks, acne pimples, oily skin, scars, sun damage and aging skin!

for anti-aging and for skin exfoliation.
Salicylic Acid better than Glycolic Acid?
A leading dermatologist, Dr. Albert Kligman, believes
that BHAs, in particular Salicylic Acid, at concentrations of
about 2% or higher, are better than AHAs for anti-aging and
for skin exfoliation.
Professor Kligman is well
known in dermatology for his research on the anti-aging
actions of retinoic acid (Retin-A). Results from Dr.
Kligman's laboratory found that the outermost layer of skin (the stratum
corneum layer) is renewed and rejuvenated after applications of salicylic
acid.
Salicylic Acid is more effective than Glycolic Acid, but it is less harsh on the skin. A small amount of the salicylic acid is converted
into copper salicylate, a powerful and safe
anti-inflammatory. So, when you use Salicylic Acid, it has it's own built-in anti-inflammatory effect to keep your skin from
being damaged. Salicylic Acid blends powerful skin exfoliation
with skin soothing actions. Salicylate also has
ultraviolet absorbing properties. This means that it helps to protect the skin from the damaging effects of the sun. Glyoclic Acid does not have
these properties.
It is also believed that Salicylic Acid contains many more benefits. Prof. John Sorenson has researched and written
extensively on the beneficial actions of copper salicylate
on skin, general health, and the anti-cancer properties
of copper salicylates.
Salicylic Acid is highly effective for acne and oily skin. Helps to unclog pores, loosen and lift out blackheads, even out skin tone, and prevent future outbreaks.
Salicylic Acid is also great for those who desire a mild exfoliant due to more
sensitive skin and for those with Rosacea.
Use alone or combine with a Copper Peptide product for the double benefits of both
Copper Peptides and Salicylic Acid.
It is recommended that a sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher be applied daily
when using exfoliating products.
Caution: Dryness or irritation could occur while using other
topical medications or acids.
This product could cause redness, dryness, peeling, or possible swelling.
If unsure about anything, consult your physician before using.
For those who have used Salicylic Acid products before with
no adverse effects. This is a stronger peel for those who are experienced with using peel products. Please read all warnings listed below.
Caution: For those allergic or sensitive to Salicylic Acid - If you have allergies to
salicylates (such as you cannot eat fruit),
we recommend you use an alpha hydroxy acid such as Glycolic Acid or Lactic Acid
instead.
Pregnancy Warning—Salicylic Acid may be absorbed through the mother's
skin. Salicylic Acid has not been studied in pregnant women.
However, studies in animals have shown that salicylic acid
causes birth defects when given orally in doses about 6 times
the highest dose recommended for topical use in humans. Before
using this medicine, make sure your doctor knows if you are
pregnant or if you may become pregnant, especially if you will
be using salicylic acid on large areas of your body.
Other medical problems—The presence of other medical
problems may affect the use of salicylic acid, especially
if you are using a 5% or stronger salicylic acid preparation.
Make sure you tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems, especially:
Blood vessel disease
Diabetes mellitus (sugar diabetes)—Use of this medicine may
cause severe redness or ulceration, especially on the hands or
feet
Inflammation, irritation, or infection of the skin—Use of this medicine may
cause severe irritation if applied to inflamed, irritated, or
infected area of the skin
Recent Accutane use
It is recommended that a sunscreen of SPF 25 or higher be applied daily
when using Exfoliating Products.
The use of a Peel Applicator Fan Brush will give the most
impressive and professional results.
Full instructions are included with the Kit.
Salicylic Acid is used to accelerate the removal of rough
outer skin, improving the skin's appearance and enhancing the results obtained
with other skin care products.
Beta-Hydroxy Acids, such as Salicylic Acid, are one of the
safest methods of exfoliation and increasing skin turnover.
As we age, a number of skin changes occur which require
different types of skin care and treatments.
One such change is that the rate of the skin cell
replacement is reduced, producing a thinner, more fragile skin. Skin is
replaced every three weeks at age 20 but this increases to every nine weeks by
age 50.
The use of Salicylic Acid will help to stimulate and speed
cell turnover, thereby producing more vibrant and smoother looking skin. The top
layer of skin will be thinned by the exfoliation of dead cells, but in the
deeper layers of skin, new collagen and elastin will be stimulated and the skin
will actually become thicker, tighter and more firm.
A series of skin peels can be utilized to:
- Stimulate New Cell Production
- Stimulate New Collagen Production
- Improve SKIN TONE
- Improve SKIN TEXTURE
- Reduce appearance of PORE SIZE
- Improve Blotchiness and IRREGULAR PIGMENTATION
- Improve appearance of SHALLOW Acne Scars
- Clear Acne, blackheads, oily skin

Peel can also be used periodically as a refreshing acid
wash to exfoliate, retexturize and revitalize the skin.
Our Acid Products are pH balanced, so you will
receive the greatest efficacy that each product can offer, and therefore, the
best possible results!
Many acne sufferers will find that the peels will keep
their acne under control and smooth away blemishes and blotchy spots.
Combining a Copper Peptide Product with a
Salicylic Acid Product will help to stimulate and speed collagen and elastin
production and cell turnover, thereby producing faster results.
You may or may not experience no visible peeling after using the Peel
Kits. However, several layers of dead skin cells will be sloughed off. This
product is formulated so that the user experiences no "Down Time", that is,
there is no period of time where you need to recover from excessive peeling or
redness.
Full, easy-to-use instructions are included with each Kit!
It is recommended that a sunscreen of SPF 25 or higher be applied daily
when using Exfoliating Products.
If you are new to Exfoliating Products, start by using a 10% or
15%
Glycolic Acid Treatment Cream or Gel listed below for a few weeks before
using a Peel Kit. After you have been using the Glycolic Treatment
Cream or Gel with no adverse effects for a few weeks, you may start a series of
Peels using a Peel Kit.
The 14% Salicylic Acid strength is for those who have used high
strength Salicylic Acid Products previously with no
adverse effects.
For the very best results, use a 10% or
15%
Glycolic Acid Treatment Cream or Gel every night in addition to your weekly peel.
Use a Glycolic Acid Treatment Cream or Gel daily, combined
with a series of Acid Peels for maximum results! You will see results
faster and maintain your results longer by using both products.
An excellent Cleanser to use before your Peel to deep-clean
and properly prepare your skin is the
Whipped
Camphor Cleanser.
Certain cleansers are alkaline in nature, and can interfere with the action
of Glycolic Acid, therefore, the proper cleanser is important.
After your peel, soothe and cool your skin with our Cucumber Ice Sorbet Gel Mask
Recommended moisturizers for use after your Peel include
Super
Rich Moisturizer,
Protect & Restore Classic, or
Pure
Refined Emu Oil.
The Copper Peptide products can be used after a Peel to soothe the skin.
Salicylic Products at high strengths, such as this one
are not to be used if pregnant or nursing. Do not use if you have recently
undergone Chemotherapy, Radiation, or Accutane treatment. Do not use on irritated skin,
or recently exfoliated skin. Consult your
Physician before use if you are unsure about using this product with a skin
condition.
If your skin is sensitive or you have a condition which
makes Acids currently unsuitable for use, we recommend using the
Fruit
Enzyme Peel Kit or the
50%
Lactic Acid Peel Kit or one of the
DermaNew Home Microdermabrasion Systems instead. Our Fruit Enzyme Products
provide superior exfoliation without the irritation sometimes associated with
Glycolic Acid products. The DermaNew Microdermabrasion system provides superior
exfoliation without the use of chemicals!
We also have a non-acid
Skin
Refining Concentrate, for those sensitive to acid-based products.
Combine the
DermaNew
Microdermabrasion System with a Glycolic Peel Kit or a Non-Glycolic Fruit
Enzyme Peel Kit for superior exfoliation and super-fast results!
Fruit Enzymes and Glycolic Acids use different methods to
acheive exfoliation. Glycolic Acids "lift off and remove" the top layer of dead
skin cells, while Fruit Enyzymes simply "dissolve" the top layer of dead skin
cells. Both methods reveal a fresher layer of skin cells and stimulate new cell
growth for a fresher, smoother complexion.
Summary of Peel Procedure:
1. Cleanse Skin
2. Apply Skin Prep Toner – Let Dry
3. Apply Glycolic Acid Solution
4. Time for 1-5 Minutes
5. Rinse Thoroughly with cool water
6. Apply Moisturizer or Sunscreen
