Folligen is a non-drug product designed to improve scalp and hair follicle health and hair vitality. Folligen had its beginning as a skin repair cream that was being tested in the Dermatology Department at the University of California at San Francisco. A 41-year-old woman with severe hair loss tried one of our skin repair creams because nothing else had worked to restore her lost hair. In two and one-half months she regained all of her lost hair. Other people began using our skin repair cream to counter hair loss and. in time, Folligen emerged as a distinct product.
Folligen's biological effect on hair is similar to, but more effective than, other copper-peptide products such as Graftcyte and Tricomin which are skin repair products that aid hair growth and scalp health.
As a person ages, our hair follicles get smaller, producing thinner hair shafts. The blood circulation system that supplies nutrients and oxygen to the hair follicle send fewer blood vessels to the hair follicle, thus inhibiting the vital flow of nutrients to the hair follicle. Copper-peptide complexes improve skin health and a more healthy skin increases the blood vessel network to the hair follicles resulting in larger follicles that grow hair faster with thicker hair shafts.
Folligen has 9.0 times more copper peptides per ounce than Concentrated Graftcyte® and 31.8 times more copper peptides per ounce than Tricomin® (Source - Evergreen Analytical Labs, Redmond, WA).
All Folligen products contain a high concentration of blue-colored copper-peptide complexes and do not contain any blue dyes or scalp damaging detergents or alcohol.
Folligen Lotion can also be used to restore scalp health and normal hair growth after dyes, permanent waving and hair straighteners.
A 2 ounce tube of Folligen Lotion, used 4 times per week, should last about 45 days depending on the size of application area. In the clinical studies, a very light coating (approximately 10 milligrams per square centimeter) was applied to the skin which is then further rubbed into the skin.

Using Emu Oil with Folligen:
Apply a light coating of emu oil to your skin or scalp. If your skin feels too oily, lightly wipe off excess oil with a tissue - enough will stick to your skin to be effective.
If using emu oil with Folligen for hair, first apply the Folligen, then the emu oil. Or use the products on alternate days.
Using Minoxidil with Folligen:
Use Folligen Lotion or Spray to get your scalp in good shape. Apply a thin coating of Folligen Lotion or Folligen Spray to the scalp. Folligen is usually applied before bedtime. If desired, you may shampoo the Folligen out in the morning. Then start using the 2% Minoxidil along with Folligen. If this is not irritating, move up to Folligen and 5% Minoxidil (Men only, women must use the 2%).
Note: Heavily bleached, very blond hair may pick up a green tint if Folligen is in contact with the hair. Try to keep the products on the scalp. However, many men and women with blond hair report excellent results with the Folligen products. This is similar to the greenish-tint that may occur after spending time in swimming pools.
Folligen lotion works well on hairlines and in areas of denser hair. For those who prefer a spray-on product, the Folligen Solution Therapy Spray which can be sprayed as a fine mist into the hair is also available.
